Will he or won’t he? This question about Chiranjeevi’s political entry is still unanswered. The delay is giving his opponents to make fun on the ongoing drama. Only time should answer them better.

On the other hand his next film is still kept pending and it is hurting his fans. The director of the film is not yet finalized till now. There are many names which were discussed but ruled out after some time. Now the fresh entry in that list is N. Shankar who was well known as Encounter Shankar.

N. Shankar never proved good at making commercial films. Revolutionary films are his forte and his commercial attempts such as Ayudham and Ram bombed at the box office. Even his Jayam Manadera with Venkatesh in the lead is pretty average.

If the buzz is to be believed that N. Shankar is going to direct Chiranjeevi’s next, is that an ideal choice? Keep your fingers crossed and wait for another name to pop up.

After the stupendous success of 'Happy Days' it has become one big party for Shekar Kammula. He has been spending most of his time appearing as a guest on TV and special programs at various places. The film has completed 100 days and still is being talked about in a big way.

Almost the entire star cast has now become celebrities and some have even managed to bag big film offers. Shekar had been giving interview after interview. He even stated that he would be doing a film with Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu.

But even after almost six months, nothing seems to have materialized. There is no talk about a film with any of the heroes.

Nagarjuna has now announced a film with Sivaprasad Reddy as producer to be directed by Srinu Vaitla. Venkatesh is doing 'Chintakayala Ravi' and Mahesh Babu has almost finalized plans for his next film with another director. This leaves Shekar Kammula with no project in hand with big stars. Some reports suggest that he will now make a sequel to Happy Days'. So get set for 'Happy Days – 2'.

Paruchuri Indirectly Says Chiru Turns CM

Paruchuri Gopalakrishna and Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao have been writing the dialogues for films for many years. They have written dialogues for NT Rama Rao's films too.

The two are now busy with working on the script for Chiranjeevi's 149th film. The film will be based on contemporary issues and is touted as a sort of a launch pad for Chiranjeevi's political entry.

Speaking at a function recently, Paruchuri Gopalakrishna talked about his work and films. He said that many 'Actors' who mouthed the dialogues written by him turn chief ministers.

He has written dialogues for NT Rama Rao and he became the chief minister. But then he is the only actor from the state to have become the chief minister. By saying 'Actors' is Paruchuri referring to Chiranjeevi? Is he so sure that Chiranjeevi will become the chief minister that he used a plural word 'Actors'? Is he also hinting that he and his brother are kingmakers?

Nayantara says that she never worked that hard as she is working for this film and expecting it to be a straightway hit. In fact the film was done by Trisha in Telugu. She wants to see the film turning out to be a bigger hit in Tamil. That's a kind of competitive spirit, indeed.

Prince Mahesh is soon becoming the darling of corporate film companies. After UTV now it is the turn of Warner Brothers to tie up with Mahesh Babu.
According to the buzz Warner Brothers are in talks with K Surya Prakasha Rao, son of K Raghavendra Rao to co produce a film.

This film is supposed to be made with Mahesh in the lead and the director is Rajamouli. The combination itself proves to be sensational to the core and if Warner Bros joins this project you can’t even imagine how the final result would be.
Warner Bros has already been making a film with Akshay Kumar in Hindi and their production Kamalhassan in Tamil will go to sets soon. The international company chose our Superstar to make its foray into Tollywood.

Mahesh Babu who has been a regular feature in Nandi Awards winners list since 2001 missed out this time.
Mahesh who won special jury award for Murari (2001) went on to bag four more awards, total five in a row! He won special jury awards for Takkari Donga and Arjun for the years 2002 and 2004 respectively. He was adjudged the best actor for his superb performances in the films Nijam (2003) and Atadu (2005).

But he didn’t win award in any category in the year 2006 and that has put a break to Mahesh’s awards streak and also he missed out on a rare double hat-trick. Nevertheless Mahesh and his fans will remember the year 2006 forever because Pokiri, the best ever commercial film of Tollywood till date was released in that year. Though he didn’t bag any award for this film Mahesh achieved the Superstar status with Pokiri.

However Pokiri bagged the best popular film award, a total of five awards in different categories.

Actress Charmi seems to be hot property after the success of her recent release Mantra. So hot in fact, that the bubblie actress has apparently asked 23 lakhs to star in an item number in director Vijay Bhaskar’s Tarun, Jagapthi Babu and Ileana starrer, being produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. And the producer is more than happy to comply. Actress Mamatha Mohandas was the original choice for the item song in this remake of the hit Hindi film Bunty or Bubblie. But due to some misunderstanding with the amount of remuneration being asked and offered Mamatha Mohandas stepped out of the project and Charmi stepped in. Producer Bellamkonda Suresh had earlier made news as he offered Ileana more than a crore for this film. One sure hopes that the film lives up to all the money that is being spent on it.

Story:
Vamsi (Gopichand) falls in love with Bujji (Bhavana) at the first sight. He feigns to be a CBI officer in order to get to know more about her. She also falls in love with him. A bad guy (Ajay) teases her and Vamsi insults him which results into an unforeseeable situation. The rest of the story is all about how Vamsi takes revenge on the band of baddies.

Gopichand: Gopichand is growing by leaps and bounds from film to film. He is excellent in the title role. He has such a supple body and it is helping him tremendously in dances. He is also cool at romantic episodes and family scenes. He excelled in fights department which is his core area.

Bhavana: Bhavana is very good in this film. She has what it takes to be a big heroine in Telugu film industry. The dubbing by Savita Reddy suited her very well. She looks good both in traditional and modern dresses. She can emote cute feelings and it is going to be an asset for her.

Others: Rajiv kanakala is impressive. Ajay and Asish Vidyardhi are good. Sunil’s comedy is alright. Raghubabu steals the show again though he has done those kinds of roles in many films. Sayaji Shinde did the role of sincere cop.

Technical Departments:

Story - screenplay - direction: Story is a typical love story with an angle of schizophrenia attached to it. The entire film is narrated in the spaced flashback format. The way director integrated the current story with the flashback is interesting. Direction of the film is good as for as main story and action sequences are concerned. But he should have selected a better premise for love thread between the lead pair. Hero feigning as CBI officer and heroine believing it blindly does not look convincing at all. How ever, the ‘neralu ghoralu’ spoof is excellent and had everybody in splits.

Analysis: First half of the film is decent. Second half is a bit slow. What made difference to an ordinary love and revenge story is the spaced flashback narration and schizophrenia aspect. The rape followed by killing of heroine might not go well with the masses. The plus point of the film are performances of the lead pair and action episodes. On the flip side, the second half and climax should have been done better. Pokuri Babu Rao who is known as a socially responsible producer seem to have left the message part out to make this commercial film. On a whole, Ontari is a film that has all ingredients to become a commercial potboiler. The range would depend on how masses embrace schizophrenia concept.

The film is being review as 3/5 by jeeva.

Hero Nagarjuna wins the Best Actor award for his portrayal of great devotee of Lord Rama in Sri Ramadasu for the year 2006. Nandita Das has won the Best Actress award for Kamli.
The Nandi Film Awards Committee headed by Chairperson M S Reddy announced the awards on Monday i.e 11 th evening. M S Reddy said 28 entries were received for the feature film category. In all, there were 54 entries for the six categories.

The Golden Nandi for the best feature film has gone to Bommarillu while Sekhar Kammula's Godavari is selected for Silver Nandi. Ganga, a film that dealt the issue of Devadasi system, has picked up the Bronze Nandi as the third Best Film.
Bommarillu is the topped in awards by bagging seven in its kitty that include best director for Bhaskar, Best Film, Best Supporting Actor for Prakash Raj, Best Dialogues for writer Abburi Ravi and a jury award for the film's leading actress Genelia.
Godavari fetched in for Sekhar Kammula the Best Director award. The film also bagged awards in categories of cinematography, music and singer.

Movie Ganga won four major awards.

While Sri Ramadasu won the 'Best Home Viewing Feature Film award', Pokiri was selected as the 'Best Popular Feature Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment'. Marthand K Venkatesh and the audiographer also won the awards for the same film.
